Selection Criteria

The Highly Cited Paper Award acknowledges research that demonstrates high impact and broad influence. The criteria for the 2025 award were as follows:

• Publication Period: Articles published in the journal during 2024–2025.

• Citation Data: Citations were counted according to the Web of Science (WOS) database for 2025.

• Both regular submissions and articles published in Special Issues were eligible.

Rewards

• The Author team: a monetary reward of 300 USD; the certificate of Highly Cited Paper Award; one-time 100% APC waiver (to be used when EDD begins charging).

• The corresponding Guest Editor team: a monetary reward of 100 USD.
