Criteria suggested by ESC 2019 [19] and ADA 2020 [21] for considering the screening of CAD in type 2 asymptomatic diabetic patients

ESC 2019: patients at very high risk, i.e. with any of the following:ADA 2020: presence of any of the following:

- Peripheral arterial disease

- High CAC score (> 400 Agatston)

- Proteinuria

- Renal failure [eGFR < 30 mL/(min·1.73 m2) ]

- Left ventricular hypertrophy

- Retinopathy

- Three of more major risk factors (age, hypertension, dyslipidemia, smoking, obesity)

- Atypical cardiac symptoms (unexplained dyspnea, chest discomnfort)

- Signs or symptoms of associated vascular disease [including carotid bruits, transient ischemic attacks, stroke, claudication, peripheral artery disease, electrocardiogram abnormalities (e.g. Q waves) ]
