abstract = {Hepatitis C virus (HCV) remains a major global health burden, causing significant morbidity, mortality, and economic costs. Direct-acting antivirals (DAAs) have become the primary treatment for patients with hepatitis C. Since the first approval in 2011, more effective agents have entered the market. Different guidelines for hepatitis treatment are implemented worldwide. The American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) and the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) recommend using DAAs in combination to achieve better outcomes and reduce resistance. The guidelines include regimens for treatment-naive and -experienced patients. They also include treatment recommendations for cirrhotic patients and unique populations. With mass screening, treatment over the last few years, and possible vaccination, eradication is attainable.},
